Chiropractic Care in Pregnancy

Prior to my pregnancy, I had never been to a chiropractor. I’d never had any chronic headaches or back pain before so I never saw the need. I learned in my natural childbirth class that chiropractic care during pregnancy could potentially lead to a shorter and easier labor… so of course I was going to try it out!

During pregnancy, the hormone relaxin relaxes the ligaments in the pelvis in preparation for childbirth. This is great but it can also cause your body to become out of alignment. Regular chiropractic care (by a Webster Certified Chiropractor) during pregnancy can not only ensure efficient communication between your body and baby but can also reduce pain, improve digestion, help you to sleep better and so much more.

As you approach your baby’s birth-day, proper alignment of your pelvis is even more critical in helping baby get into the proper position for birth. Making sure your body is aligned for birth has been known to reduce the length of labor and reduce the need for medical interventions.

For those of you in the Bossier City/Shreveport area, I highly recommend seeing either Dr. Diamond at Diamond Chiropractic Health Center or Jenna Watson of Integrity Chiropractic. They are both wonderful Webster Certified Chiropractors who specialize in working with pregnant women and babies.
